#5 — Dinner Date #1 — Ignition Press
Joanne Starer and Khary Randolph, the creative team behind Sirens of the City, reunite for a vampire rom-com that turns the nightmare of modern dating into literal horror. Newly turned vampire Syd is trying to move past a toxic ex while dealing with an uncontrollable thirst for blood when she meets rideshare driver Izzy, creating the possibility of either love at first sight—or one very bad bite. Ignition Press is giving the launch an extra push with an October 7 midnight release, while an Alitha Martinez Baltimore Comic-Con edition was limited to only 500 copies.
Why Collectors Are Watching
Brand-new original property
First appearances of Syd and Izzy
Joanne Starer writing
Khary Randolph artwork
Sirens of the City creative-team reunion
Vampire horror mixed with romantic comedy
October 7 midnight-release promotion
Steve Lieber Cover B
Corin Howell incentive variant
Baltimore Comic-Con edition limited to 500 copies
Copper Age Gold Take
This is the sleeper gamble of the five. A new vampire property with an accessible high-concept premise and an established creative team has breakout potential, and the 500-copy convention edition gives collectors an early scarcity angle if the series catches on.
#4 — Hellboy in Hell: Nothing But Blood #1 — Dark Horse Comics
Mike Mignola returns to one of the most important periods in Hellboy history with a new two-issue story set after Hellboy in Hell #8: The Hounds of Pluto Part Two. Hellboy encounters a young woman pursued by winged beasts amid an uprising against Hell's most powerful demons, only to discover that neither the situation nor the people involved are quite what they appear to be. Artist Cyrille Pomès makes his Hellboy Universe debut alongside Mignola and longtime colorist Dave Stewart, giving the issue both continuity significance and a noteworthy creator milestone.

New characters within Hell
Two-issue story arc

Mike Mignola Cover B
Returns to a critically important period in Hellboy's mythology
Copper Age Gold Take
For Mignolaverse collectors, the big hook is new material inside Hellboy in Hell rather than another side adventure. Pomès' first Hellboy work adds a concrete collector milestone, while any new characters or changes to Hell's hierarchy deserve attention.
#3 — Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1 — Oni Press / Archie Comics
Corinna Bechko and Kano launch a brand-new ongoing Sabrina the Teenage Witch series as part of Oni Press and Archie Comics' ambitious publishing collaboration celebrating Archie's 85th anniversary. The series is intended to push Sabrina into a fresh era of magic and mischief for a new generation while retaining one of Archie's most recognizable supernatural characters at its center. Oni is treating the debut like a genuine event with a midnight release and an enormous cover program extending all the way to an exceptionally scarce 1:250 Kano black-and-white incentive.
Why Collectors Are Watching
Brand-new Sabrina ongoing
Major Oni Press/Archie Comics initiative
Archie Comics' 85th-anniversary era

Dan Parent 1:20 Legacy Variant
Erica Henderson 1:50
Mahmud Asrar 1:100
Kano B&W 1:250 incentive
Special Pyre Satanic variant for participating midnight-release retailers
Copper Age Gold Take
This is much more than another Sabrina #1. A new ongoing, a new publishing partnership, Archie's 85th anniversary and incentives reaching 1:250 make this one of the week's most deliberately collector-oriented launches.
#2 — Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre Presents: The Kaiju of Oz #1 — IDW Publishing
Godzilla stomps into the Wonderful Land of Oz in an outrageous new Monsterpiece Theatre one-shot from writer Mike Costa and artist Ryan Browne, putting the King of the Monsters on a collision course with the Wizard, witches, Munchkins and the rest of L. Frank Baum's iconic fantasy world. The mash-up continues IDW's strategy of throwing Godzilla into unexpected pieces of classic literature and pop culture, while the issue also contains the conclusion of Tom Scioli's Godzilla vs. Robin Hood. Tom Scioli, Browne, Zander Cannon and Jon Ayala provide covers, with an Elizabeth Beals 1:10 incentive giving Godzilla collectors another version to chase.

Tom Scioli Cover A
Zander Cannon variant
Jon Ayala IDW Goes Dark variant
Elizabeth Beals 1:10 incentive
Includes the finale of Tom Scioli's Godzilla vs. Robin Hood
Strong crossover appeal for Godzilla and Oz collectors
Copper Age Gold Take
This is pure concept-driven collectibility. Godzilla invading Oz is weird enough to stand out even among the increasingly wild Godzilla crossovers, and that distinct premise could give the issue staying power with kaiju and novelty-cover collectors.
#1 — Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Halloween Special #1 — IDW Publishing
Patrick Horvath returns to Woodbrook for an oversized Halloween anthology built around the increasingly horrifying legend of Samantha Strong, whose murders have become difficult to separate from the folklore now surrounding her. Horvath is joined by an impressive roster including James Tynion IV, Tony Fleecs, Che Grayson, Dave Wachter, Jared Cullum, Tyler Boss and Matt Emmons, with the citizens of Woodbrook sharing stories about Samantha's most terrifying alleged deeds. With Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees already established as a standout modern horror property, IDW is treating the special accordingly with covers from Horvath, Fleecs, Peach Momoko, J. Gonzo and Francesco Francavilla plus incentives reaching 1:50.
Why Collectors Are Watching

Francesco Francavilla IDW Goes Dark cover
Horvath 1:25 full-art incentive
Peach Momoko 1:50 full-art incentive
Copper Age Gold Take
This is my collector headliner of the five. Samantha Strong already has an established modern-horror following, and adding James Tynion IV and a stacked group of creators to an oversized Halloween anthology gives this special the ingredients to become a memorable piece of the Beneath the Trees run rather than a disposable seasonal one-shot.
What's Buzzing This Week?
🎃 Halloween horror is dominating the indie conversation — Beneath the Trees, Dinner Date, Hellboy and even Sabrina give four of your five selections a supernatural or horror component. The October timing makes this an unusually strong week for collectors who specialize in horror comics.
🔥 Established creators are giving new books immediate credibility — James Tynion IV joining Patrick Horvath on Beneath the Trees, Mignola returning to Hellboy in Hell, and Starer/Randolph reuniting for Dinner Date all give collectors recognizable creative talent to follow. FANGORIA
🔑 New beginnings and new material provide multiple collector angles — Dinner Date introduces an entirely new cast, Sabrina launches a new ongoing, and Nothing But Blood inserts fresh canonical material into an important period of Hellboy history. That creates a nice mix of true ground-floor speculation and established-property collecting. Graphic Policy
🎨 Cover scarcity is particularly aggressive this week — Sabrina stretches all the way to a 1:250, while Beneath the Trees reaches 1:50 and Dinner Date already has a 500-copy convention edition. For cover collectors, this week's question may not simply be which book to buy, but which version.
